Mata Amores

Mata Amores is the latest project from Vancouver musician and artist Ricardo Khayatte. Written over the last decade, these songs are now finding their way into the world through live performances, studio recordings, and collaborations with a rotating community of musicians, artists, and friends. Before Mata Amores, Ricardo wrote and performed with The Reckoners, while the visual identity of this project is drawn from his own collection of abstract expressionist paintings.

Mata Amores, "kills love(s)", isn't about rejecting love, but making room for it. It's about leaving behind the love that holds us back so we can discover the ones that help us move forward.

Somewhere between darkness and light is where it all begins.
